Why it is in the collection

What brought this channel into the collection is not a thesis but a craft. Guiding a meditation well is a genuine skill: it demands a command of pacing, silence and breath that goes largely undiscussed precisely because, done well, it goes unnoticed. Michel has that command, and the technical competence serves the listener rather than the person recording.

We are also drawn to his refusal of a widespread false choice. To hold that the inner life and the active life are not in competition is a defensible position and, more to the point, a useful one for the many people who feel forced to pick a side and end up neglecting both.

He is here, finally, for a generosity of format. Publishing pieces that run for hours, designed to accompany an entire night rather than to hold attention, runs directly against what platforms reward. It is a decision made in the listener's favour.

About this channel

Cédric Michel begins from a premise he states plainly in presenting his channel: you should not have to choose between inner peace and outward success. Against the two familiar paths ( chasing achievement at the cost of equilibrium, or giving up ambition to preserve calm ) he proposes a third, in which serenity, confidence and clarity are the foundation everything else rests on rather than the price paid for it.

The channel is organised around guided practice. There are ten-minute morning meditations meant to set the direction of a day before the day sets yours; relaxation and hypnosis sessions devoted to letting go, a theme he returns to repeatedly from different angles; sequences of affirmations; priming sessions; and long pieces for sleep, pairing an opening meditation with hours of music intended to carry the whole night. Alongside these sit more reflective videos, examining why letting go is so hard, or which common mistakes keep a meditation practice from bearing fruit.

What you find here is above all tools to use rather than theory to admire. The length of each piece is chosen for a moment in the day ( on waking, before sleep, in a ten-minute pause ) and the voice holds a steadiness that makes it possible to repeat the practice many days running. Around that practice the channel also gathers material on meditation, mindfulness, breathing, personal development and manifestation. The videos are in French.
